Wednesday 30th July 2014: GainJet Boeing 757 arrives for maintenance


An early morning arrival to Runway 24 from Keflavik was this GainJet Boeing 757 SX-RFA (Ollie Thain).
Arriving for maintenance with ATC Lasham, this aircraft is an uncommon maintenance visitor to Southend. (Keith Burton).

Saturday 26th July: Helitt ATR72 EC-LNQ and Purple Flybe Dash 8 G-JEDV


Helitt Lineas Aereas ATR72 EC-LNQ arrived the previous day from Katowice for a few days parking at Southend. Here it is parked in the morning nose in on Stand 14.

Meanwhile the weekly Thomson / First Choice Volotea charter flight was operated by Boeing 717 EI-EXB. 

The Aer Lingus Regional Dublin service was operated by ATR72-600 EI-FAU. 
While a purple Flybe Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 operated the scheduled service from Newquay. This was only the second visit of a Dash 8 in the new livery to Southend.

Friday 18th July 2014: Blue Islands ATR42 G-ZEBS departs to Guernsey after miantenance

G-ZEBS had been receiving maintenance with regional aircraft specialist Inflite at Southend since arriving on 30th June.

And departed from Runway 06 back to Guernsey on a lovely summer evening.

Sobart Air ATR72 EI-REL departed to Antwerp on the evening Flybe service. 
While Danish Air Transport ATR42 operated the evening Aer Lingus Regional service from Dublin on behalf of Stobart Air. This aircraft has been dry leased by Stobart Air for a number of weeks during the summer. 
EI-FCZ made its first visit to Southend operating the afternoon Dublin service. This is the 8th and final new ATR72-600 to be delivered to Stobart Air to operate Aer Lingus Regional services. (Keith Burton)

Monday 7th July 2014: Exotic maintenance visitors: Air Astana Boeing 757 P4-FAS and Discovery Air Boeing 737 5N-BQO



A very early morning arrival at 6:10 was this Air Astana Boeing 757-200, P4-FAS direct from Almaty, Kazakhstan for maintenance with ATC Lasham.

Meanwhile as further visitor for maintenance with ATC Lasham was  5N-BQO, of the Nigerian airline Discovery Air. Here the aircraft was photographed on Stand 14 after having arrived from Africa the previous evening.

Sunday 6th July 2014: Discovery Air Boeing 737 5N-BQO arrives for maintenance

This aircraft is one of two Boeing 737s in the Discovery Air fleet and is no stranger to Southend, having been painted and finally delivered from here on November 30th 2013. (Keith Burton)
